What to Wear/Bring to Drill
- Wear the Uniform of the Day (found on the Plan of the Day in your email).
- Pack a healthy lunch (we've got a fridge and microwave available!)
- Refillable water bottle, (cadets: canteen with belt and pouch). We’ll be taking water breaks throughout the day to stay hydrated!
- Sunscreen is applied at home. We will be spending a lot of time outside!
- Cadets, it is always ok to bring your seabag, as it will be the best way to store and carry all your gear needed for drill.
- Families are responsible to continually verify the completeness of the sea bag and to communicate with the Unit Commanding Officer with any comments, questions, or concerns.

Military Immersion Evolution:
During some drills, we hold a "Military Immersion Evolution." Our youth program is rooted in military traditions, and this experience is designed to remind Cadets of the standards they are expected to meet and what it's like to be in a stressful environment. This evolution creates a loud*, confusing, and disorienting atmosphere, all within a safe setting and under constant Adult Volunteer supervision. It's meant to teach Cadets important skills like military bearing**, proper conduct, and how to perform under pressure.
Physical fitness is also a big part of this training, with high-intensity exercises on our training field. This helps Cadets understand the importance of staying active for their health and preventing injuries. We take water breaks often, double the adult supervision, and always follow weather advisories to keep everyone safe.

Physical Fitness & Eat Healthy!!
All Cadets must pass the Physical Readiness Test (PRT) before they can attend trainings. If a Cadet has an injury or cannot take the PRT, they must provide a doctor's note. You can find our Physical Fitness Standards below! We encourage all Cadets to exercise several times a week to prepare for the PRT.
If a Cadet needs help meeting the minimum passing standard, we recommend following the U.S. Navy’s 5-Week Conditioning Plan, which is also provided below. We also encourage all Cadets to maintain a healthy, balanced diet. For guidance on what this diet should look like, check out the U.S. Navy’s Nutritional Resources linked below.
