Military Training Immersion Evolution:
Every drill, we hold a "Military Training Immersion Evolution." The U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps is a military-based youth program. Our history is steeped in the military lifestyle. This evolution is designed to remind Cadets of the environment they are in, the standards they are expected to uphold, and what a stressful environment is like. In this evolution, there will be an emphasis on creating a loud*, confusing, disorienting, and stressful situation while being in a safe environment with Adult Volunteer oversight at all times. The environment is also meant to instill military bearing**, conduct, and courtesies expected of all Cadets. The skill of "performance under pressure" is developed and perfected. Physical fitness is also performed at a high intensity in our training field. This is to remind our Cadets the importance of being active in order to stay healthy, prevent future health issues, and injuries. Water breaks are taken often, and weather advisories are strictly adhered to.

Practice Your Physical Fitness and Eat Healthy!!
An official Physical Readiness Test (PRT) will be administered at EVERY drill we are at the AFRC. All Cadets must pass the Physical Readiness Test before attending trainings. If a Cadet has an injury or cannot perform the Physical Readiness Test, they must bring a doctor’s note. Our Physical Fitness Standards can be found below! We encourage all cadets to exercise multiple times per week to prepare for the PRT. If a cadet needs assistance with meeting the minimum passing PRT standard, we recommend starting a workout plan in line with the U.S. Navy’s 5-Week Conditioning Plan, which is located below. We encourage all cadets to have a healthy, nutritious, and balanced diet. If a cadet needs assistance in knowing what this diet is like, we recommend using the U.S. Navy’s Nutritional Resources located below.
