If we cannot contact you within 14 days, we remove your information from our system. 2. First Contact Our Unit Commanding Officer personally interviews each new Cadet AND their families. Whether over the phone or at drill, this important step allows for ample information to be given and questions to be answered. 3. Shadow Day Shadow Day is a where new Cadets can attend a unit drill and experience what it is like to be in our youth program. Shadow Day is free to attend. All new Cadets must attend Shadow Day before they can enroll. For more information about Shadow Day click the button below! |
4. Decide to Join
Joining our youth program is a big decision. Who we are and what we do is different than anything else available to youth today. We might not be the right fit for everyone and that is ok!
5. Submit Enrollment Forms
Our enrollment forms, located below, are a detailed snapshot of who is enrolling. We require a sports-type physical by a doctor (Pages 5&6), a copy of the new Cadets' immunization record and insurance card. We are here to answer any questions you have!
6. Enrollment Fees
Cost should NEVER be a barrier to consider joining us. We are here for any kid who wants to be with us to be able to participate fully in our youth program. Our Unit Commanding Officer works directly with families to help make any kids dream, a reality!
The New Cadet Enrollment Fee is $350 and every year there after, Re-enrollment Fees are $125.
The enrollment forms and fees must be submitted together. Our Costs Sheet can be found below.
7. Welcome Aboard!
New Cadets are welcomed in an enrollment ceremony where we all reaffirm our commitment to professionalism, honor, integrity, and our military-based environment. We look forward to all you can accomplish in the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps!
New Cadet Requirements:
1. Pass Our Physical Readiness Test
Based on the Presidential Physical Fitness Test in a typical gym class, our fitness standard, found below, consists of push-ups, the plank, and a 1-mile run. New Cadets are NOT required to pass this standard on Shadow Day, however this standard MUST be passed upon enrollment and at least once every 6 months. We recommend the U.S. Navy's 5-Week Fitness Plan, found below, for those who need help with getting physically fit. We are very proud of our focus to the "whole person" approach of instilling the importance of a sound mind, body, and spirit. |
2. Comply with our Grooming Standard
Our grooming standard is based on the U.S. Navy's standard. This is meant to keep youth professional in appearance that will be required of them if they are to join the military or seek a well-paying job after high school. Males are clean-shaven and hair is no more than 2 inches in bulk. This haircut is often referred to as a "high and tight." Females are in buns, neat in appearance. Hair coloring be a natural color and complement the individual.
