1. Pass our Physical Readiness Test (PRT) within the first 3 months
Applicants need to show that they have the potential to pass our Physical Readiness Test (PRT). While passing the PRT is not required to enroll, applicants must pass it within 3 months of joining and then at least once every 6 months. Click the button below to see our PRT scoring standards, which are based on age and gender. The test includes push-ups, the plank, and a 1-mile run. If applicants need help getting in shape, we recommend using the U.S. Navy's 5-Week Fitness Plan, which you can find below. |
2. Follow our appearance standards
We get to wear the U.S. Navy uniform, which is really exciting! Because of this, we need to follow their dress rules to look sharp and professional. For boys, this means being clean-shaven and keeping their hair shorter than 2 inches. For girls, hair needs to be in a bun or styled so that it doesn't touch the collar. If you want to color your hair, it has to be a natural shade.

3. Attend one, 1-week overnight training per year
With over 350 trainings offered each year, there's something for everyone! Teens can explore areas like medical, aviation, police/fire services, special forces, cybersecurity, culinary arts, construction, engineering, and more. Each training includes hours of team-building activities, physical fitness, military drills, and hands-on learning. Cadets can attend as many trainings as they want—more trainings mean more fun and satisfaction in the program. One of our former Cadets even completed 34 trainings in just 4 years. The world is your oyster!
