5 Things About Our Youth Program:
1. The Offer of a Challenge
- We are unlike any experience available to youth today. Sea Cadets is a challenging, rigorous, military-structured youth program. This difference is what is so appealing to both parents and kids to experience something new, different, and rewarding to anyone who is driven enough to join us. Through our youth program Cadets recognize their limits and can fail safely, then learn to succeed to see beyond the limits they set for themselves. This helps kids understand responsibility, teamwork, and what it takes to be independently successful while still in middle/high school.
2. Advanced Paygrade Enlistment
- After graduating Sea Cadet Recruit Training, all Cadets are eligible for Advanced Paygrade (APG) enlistment as an E-2 in the U.S. Navy, Army, Marine Corps, Air Force, Space Force, National Guard, Air National Guard, and Coast Guard (Cadets are NOT required to join the armed services once they graduate the Program). E-3 APG can be earned for exceptionally performing Cadets.
3. Preparing for the College / Jobs
- Sea Cadets can apply to our exclusive scholarships to help them attend the school of their choice. These scholarships are WITHOUT any military obligation, and is open to every graduating Senior to apply and receive. Annually, we award over $100,000 for Cadets to go to college. Our adventures also help when writing essays and creating resumes when applying to jobs, college or to receive other scholarships. Reflecting upon our unique experiences help with telling a very compelling personal story!
4. Leadership Skills, Respect, and Self-Confidence Building
- Cadets gain self-confidence by their adventures and earning ribbons to recognize their hard work and accomplishments. Cadets learn to follow in the footsteps of their Senior Cadets, mutually earning their respect. We encourage each Cadet to set goals and strive for excellence. Developed and mentored through the military lifestyle. We personally mentor each Cadet to help them in whatever they may choose as their future plan. We become involved, help open closed doors, and become lifelong supporters of their hard earned successes!
5. Community Service Hours
- We work directly in our community making a difference where it matters. We often get asked to march in parades, present color guards at sporting events, attend Air Shows and Fleet Weeks in the area, and assist the various state veteran organizations improve the quality of life of their members.
