ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY To all Cadets and Staff: We had invited Admiral Thad Allen, Commandant of the Coast Guard to be our guest speaker for our Annual Dinner. We knew he was contemplating retirement this spring so was unsure what his response would be. He has accepted our invitation but the date is sooner than we anticipated. Monday,22 March, 2010 will be the date so please mark your calendars for what will be an exciting evening. Admiral Allen will be retiring in May and everyone will want the opportunity to say farewell to him. He is a fabulous speaker, I've been with him about 10 times already at National Conventions and other Coast Guard Changes of Command. Please let me know how your schedules look and if your able to fulfill the Color Guard duties once again. We have not even got the invitations made up yet and will have our initial dinner planning committee meeting on Monday, 25 January, but wanted you to circle the date. Best regards, Thanks WO Kirby ALCON: Worcester (CL-144) Division has arranged for a day of training aboard the USS Buttercup in Newport on 19 FEB and we have 12 billets that are available on a first come first served basis. These billets must be filled no later than 30 JAN 2010 by Sea Cadets who have successfully completed Recruit Training and have been advanced to E-2. Please email me ASAP to reserve billets for your cadets and after confirmation, send Locally Arranged Orders and the medical form that attached to 28 Town Forest Rd, Groton, MA 01450. There are two options for transportation to Newport, either the cadets can be dropped off in Worcester at 0530, or we can arrange a meeting point in Newport; however, punctuality must be stressed: we have a limited amount of time at the DC trainer and we would like to spend as much time on training as possible. This training evolution is open to both male and female cadets, and there is no quota for either, just 12 total. Please feel free to email me with any questions. More details on the training schedule and necessary gear will be included with the confirmation email. Contact WO Kirby asap if you would like to attend this training!! Enrollment information for cadets who have intentions of attending the Naval Academy or Coast Guard Academy. This information provides an indoctoration seminar titled: NASS - Naval Academy Summer Seminar AIM - USCG Academy Information Mission Please note the dates for enrollment and pass to your unit commanding officers for distribution to cadets.
